Strategic Planning Event for Chief Financial Officer - Denver, Colorado
- The breakout on the three futures.
- Prioritization of work efforts.
- Listening and prioritizing of team/group projects.
- Everyone’s active participation.
- Interaction among groups, honesty and all treated and recognized as equals.
- Consensus, looking at future of CFO.
- The group interaction and good instructor.
- The open discussion which resulted in a realization by all of the activities we are already heavily involved in.
- Format and participation. The structure provided a thoughtful way to articulate organization responsibilities, work to be done (goals) and priorities.
- Participation was thoughtful, honest and helpful in our understanding of “where we are” and “where we are going.
- ”Flexibility of approach, listing of work processes underway, setting, mapping exercise-led to focus on business.
- Now (I) understand more clearly ways we can create value in the CFO. Have good idea of where we are today. Understand direction of CFO.
- Best information, ranking the team activities.
- I like location and the openness of discussion. Everyone answered what needs to be addressed, with stripes left at the door.
Utility Scenario Planning Workshop Evaluation - Hondo, Texas
- This is the very first time that the Board and staff sat down in any type of workshop. This is very good to be able to have such an informal meeting with ideas floating back and forth.
- I liked the entire program, but the problem solving is the part I liked best.
- Facilitating the “brainstorming” sessions; the results of the consumer survey; open communication with board members.
- The informality of the session! Laid back etc. ...
- Everyone’s involvement in this project.
- You gave us a lot to think about. I consider this a day well spent.
- I liked the very informal gathering of the Board and our staff. This has been the first time we have had any type of joint meeting.
- Breaking up into (4) groups and solving problems.
- The open forum for discussion - great to get ideas at!
- Sharing of ideas with board and everyone else.
- Openness of meeting - no long technical presentations.
- Learning what the potential problems are, and getting a broad view of possible solutions.
- Program gave an insight to where utilities’ are headed and what we might do to prepare for and become a leader in these areas.
- Meeting with the Board - a joint meeting of board and staff. We’re all on the same side and it’s important to work together and have this type of communication - this is new for us. Facilitators did a super job!
- Brainstorming - ability to express ideas in an open atmosphere. Liked group sessions.
- Excellent presentation! Enjoyed the sharing of ideas and being able to be together toward sharing a common goal. Break-out sessions were good. Our employees need to feel we care enough to involve them and they can make or break “our future!”

Facilitation Training Workshop - Sacramento, California
- This was a valuable class run by a terrific facilitator. I’m sure these ideas can be applied to all of our offices.
- The concepts, approaches and principles are taught in a systematical manner.
- Presenter’s willingness to include all comments and still manage class.
- Flip charts on walls-keeps everything fresh.
- Defining recording techniques and roles.
- Informality, student/presenter interaction.
- Outcome based meetings important to be reminded of what we are working towards.
